Favorite Book: currently Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, but I have love affairs with most of the books I read.
How did you come to fan-fiction writing? By reading a lot of fan fiction. Finding really good writers inspired me to try my hand, and finding not-so-well-written stories gave me courage to let other people see them! J
How do you come up with ideas for stories? It usually starts with a question I have, usually something not covered by canon, and then I fill in the gaps for myself.
What do you do to overcome writer's block? Walk away. Sometimes, just giving yourself a break allows the block to resolve itself.
Have you written in any other fandom? If yes, where can your stories be found? No, just LOTR
Do you use music as a soundtrack for your writing? If yes, what kind? I have a playlist in iTunes called “Lothlorien.“ It contains everything from Howard Shore to Dead Can Dance to The Mirror Reveals and Unto Ashes.
Is there a certain time of day you usually sit down to write? Usually at night (but sometimes I get bitten by a writing nazgul at work and try to sneak in a few lines
Have you or would you write stories "on request" for readers? I haven’t, but I’d certainly give it a go.
Which of your own stories do you like best? Heh… I’ve only written one!
What do you think is your trademark in stories and why? It’s probably too early to say, what with my vast and overwhelming canon of one unfinished story, but I think it’s safe to say I lean toward the angsty.
What part of your writing do you think still needs improvement? Finding a better balance between description and dialogue… and I’m really, really vebose! I’d like to learn to use words more economically.
Is there something you would never write? MPREG. That’s a big squick for me.
